So where the hell is Richard Parker?

Hey there sports fans, Al with the latest:

So the biggest question that anyone should ask is this, so where the hell is Richard Parker?

That's a great question, and I'm glad you asked it.

The Watery Adventure of Richard Parker - a wordless graphic novel is being hi-res scanned!

What does a Hi-Rez scan mean for the reader? A Hi-Rez scan means that the book for the wordless graphic novel "The Watery Adventure of Richard Parker" is getting ready for press.

Currently, the Hi-Rez scans mean that I am formatting the book for press. This means that I've also had to go through the book and fine-tune the artwork already sold. But since there were no Hi-Rez scans of those images, I've had to re-create those to fit the format. Not an easy task.

One of the issues that I found recently is with the book, and its formatting is this, there are still transitional pages that are needed to make the story flow easily.

My biggest issue with doing the book currently is making sure that all the artwork looks consistent with the style of artwork that I can produce. In some places, that means I've actually had to modify some of the work that I had done previously to match, but I'm working on it right now.

Really, in all honesty, that means that I have had to add more bubbles and a little more atmosphere to the images.

As I am writing this, that means that I'm about a third of the way through the book. I've been doing the Hi-Rez scans.

One of the best examples of a filling is a piece of artwork that just sold recently at the say it ain't so show I had to re-create that actual piece. Still, I also had to make it fit the book's format as it's being made the new version of that piece "Below the Decks with Richard Parker," I personally feel is one of my best pieces of work re-rendering something I've already done.

On a personal note, I feel that when you can make the last piece of artwork and a new one that is supposed to represent it actually make it look better is a fantastic feeling I am exceedingly pleased.

I am looking as I am posting this to reach out to Philip Simon, a senior editor at Dark Horse. I met him years ago at a comic book show in Portland, Oregon, and hit him up to see if he would be interested in printing this book. If not, then it's onto looking at getting into doing self-publishing and printing this book up someplace else, preferably as a

hardbound with a couple of foldout pages.

Right now, I am reformatting the story by adding new images to the pages of the foldout. I'm not sure exactly how those will work or the cost of those, but I know they need to happen.

The Original Below Deck with Richard Parker on the left and New reformatted version on the right.

The image above, "The Watery Adventure of Richard Parker," is an example of the unknown for me (side note: this is the one that started it all! Circa 2014). This one is going to need to be re-rendered since it is the first in the original piece.

Who knew that eight years later, after these original pieces would be the reason why I'm making a graphic novel? I had no idea. OR what it would become. There have been changes personally and artistically that it is hard to imagine so many things over the year.

I only knew at the time that I needed to get this piece out, As I sat outside on a stoop of the house during the late summer that year. I didn't realize that I would be working on the same character 8 years later and back at the same home.

I guess that the way the creative mind works- so many mysterious ways.
